Clarification on cancelling a Skittle Match. (Rule 8) 13-12-2008

I cannot refuse a match cancellation provided that the following has be observed.

Minimum 2 weeks notice before the match date, to the opposition & the Results Secretary.

New venue and date has been agreed by both teams, and the Results Secretary has been  Informed of what they are.

Remember that the replay date has to be within 4 weeks of the original match date regardless of venue.

If this is not the case then it maybe treated as a team breaking a fixture (Rule 8)

 

Refusal of  requested cancellation of a match.

Cancellation notice less than two weeks will probably be refused,  regardless of Team name or division, But each case will be

judged on it’s own merit.

 

I do not consider, the following examples of typical reasons given as being acceptable.

 

1, We are short of players.

2, Half  our team play in the local quiz, crib or darts league.

3, Its the works Christmas Party.

 

If the opposition requests that the match be cancelled and there is less

than two weeks notice and you don’t agree, Tell them NO,

It’s no good agreeing to a cancellation, and then moaning and groaning to me, remember you agreed to it.

 

But remember, your team may wish to cancel a match one day ?
